Ingham Institute Simulation in Healthcare Research Grant

The Ingham Institute invites applications for simulation in healthcare grant funded by targeted charitable donations of the Institute’s supporters.

The total amount available is $15,000 and it can be awarded as one or two grants. Applications should be written in a lay language, limited to four A4 pages and include:

• Title of the project
• Investigators
• Description of the aims, proposed outcomes and methods
• Project timeframe
• Indicative budget
• Chief investigators’ track record in similar research
   

Preference will be given to applications that:

• Involve more than one research group in the Institute; and/or
• Increase research capacity; and/or
• Support the development of a larger competitive grant proposal.
   

Conditions:

1. Research must be in the field of simulation in healthcare;
2. The project should support research into the effectiveness of simulation as a learning methodology or in the translation of research findings into clinical practice using a simulated environment;
3. The grant is open to the Ingham Institute staff and affiliated researchers with a signed MOU with the Ingham Institute;
4. The work must be performed in the Ingham Institute Clinical Skills and Simulation Centre
5. The minimum application amount is $5,000;
6. Projects should have either a postgraduate student or early career researcher (less than seven years since completion of their Higher Degree as Chief Investigator A);
7. Maximum of two Chief Investigators per grant application;
8. Funding will be credited to a cost centre within the Ingham Institute accounting system;
9. Grant funds must be expended or fully committed by 31 December 2015.
